I live in an ultra liberal city and I easily see 4 homeless people on a 7 min walk to get coffee. It’s absurd how everyone has just given up on solving homelessness or drug addiction.

And as someone who grew up in the suburban sprawl… There is no amount of money someone could pay me to live in the burbs again.

Other than LA I've also lived in Seattle/SF/NYC and man, the unruly/disgusting streets of American cities really on another level.

A growing portion of the electorate in liberal cities do prefer clean & safe streets, but it's nutty to me how this is not the opinion of the vast majority of the voting base. Just dEmoCracY at work.

And yes re: suburban life - ever since I finally escaped from suburbia, I always tell people I'd rather jump off a bridge than go back to that life again. I mean that quite literally.

How deep does the sprawl go? Do you think it’s too far for Poseidon to finish the job? As you may already know, that’s a Russian nuclear torpedo that creates radioactive tsunamis.

The childhood photos are very revealing. But there are kind of too many foreigners in Taiwan now, especially in the north.

That's the first time I've heard of Poseidon actually.. interesting weapon. I've never really hear anyone fear a tsunami, it's not in LA people's consciousness.

And yep, I noticed the phenomenon in Taipei recently.
